Refund Policy

In one paragraph

Bought a SceneWeaver Student or Pro licence and changed your mind — for any reason — within 14 days? Email info@whiterosecode.co.uk with your order number and we'll arrange a full refund through Paddle (the company that took your payment). Once the refund goes through, your paid licence stops but every manuscript you've made stays fully editable — SceneWeaver just returns to the Free tier's feature set.

The 14-day window

You can ask for a refund of any paid SceneWeaver tier (Student or Pro) within 14 calendar days of the day you bought it, for any reason. You don't need to give us a reason or explain your decision.

This policy is in addition to the consumer rights you already have by law — nothing here reduces them. If you're in the UK, those rights come from the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013; other countries have their own equivalent laws.

How to ask for a refund

Easiest route:

  1. Email info@whiterosecode.co.uk from the same address you used to buy.
  2. Include your Paddle order number (it's on the receipt Paddle sent when you paid) — or, if you can't find it, the date you bought and roughly how much you paid.
  3. You don't need to explain why — "I'd like a refund" is enough.

We aim to reply within one working day and get the refund confirmed within three. Paddle then sends the money back to the card or account you paid with; how long that takes depends on your bank — usually 3 to 10 business days.

You can also contact Paddle directly at paddle.com/support — as the company that handled the payment, Paddle can process the refund on their own without needing to check with us. Either route works.

What happens to your licence and your work

When a refund goes through:

Exceptions and unusual situations

After 14 days

Refund requests after the 14-day window are at our discretion. If you've hit a real bug, or something we said on the website turned out to be misleading, or something else out of the ordinary has happened, get in touch — we'd rather find a fair way through than leave you unhappy. Consumer rights under the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015 (or your country's equivalent) still apply no matter when the 14 days ended.

Buying, refunding, then buying again

The 14-day, no-questions-asked policy is offered in good faith. If someone appears to be buying and refunding in a way that clearly abuses the system rather than uses it, we may say no to further refunds.

Chargebacks

A "chargeback" is when you go straight to your bank or card provider to dispute a charge, rather than asking us for a refund. If you do that, your licence will stop the same way as for an ordinary refund. Please email us first if you can — a direct refund is faster for you, cheaper for us, and skips a stressful dispute process on both sides.

VAT, sales tax, and currency

Paddle sends back the full amount you paid in the currency you paid in — that includes any VAT or sales tax Paddle added on when you bought.

Free tier

The Free tier is free. There's nothing to refund.
