Refund Policy

In one paragraph

If you buy a SceneWeaver Student or Pro licence and change your mind for any reason within 14 days, email us at info@whiterosecode.co.uk with your order number and we'll arrange a full refund through our merchant of record, Paddle. Your licence is revoked when the refund is processed, but every manuscript you've created stays editable — SceneWeaver simply returns to the Free tier feature set.

The 14-day window

You may request a refund of any paid SceneWeaver tier (Student or Pro) within 14 calendar days of the original purchase date, for any reason. You do not need to justify or explain your decision.

This policy applies in addition to any statutory rights you have as a consumer under UK or local law. Nothing in this policy limits your rights under the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015, the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, or equivalent legislation in your jurisdiction.

How to request a refund

The simplest path:

  1. Email info@whiterosecode.co.uk from the address you used to purchase.
  2. Include your Paddle order number (you'll find it in the receipt Paddle sent at the time of purchase) or, if you can't find it, the date and approximate amount of the purchase.
  3. You don't need to explain why — "I'd like a refund" is enough.

We aim to acknowledge refund requests within one working day and to confirm the refund within three working days. Paddle then returns the funds to the original payment method; the exact timing depends on your card issuer or bank, typically 3–10 business days.

You may also contact Paddle directly at paddle.com/support — as our merchant of record, Paddle has authority to process the refund without our intervention. Either route works.

What happens to my licence and my work

When a refund is processed:

Exceptions and edge cases

After the 14-day window

Refund requests outside the 14-day window are at our discretion. If you've encountered a genuine defect, an unmet expectation that was reasonable based on our published material, or other unusual circumstances, get in touch — we'd rather find a fair outcome than have an unhappy customer. Statutory rights under the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015 (or the equivalent in your jurisdiction) continue to apply regardless of the 14-day window.

Repeated refund-then-repurchase patterns

The 14-day, no-questions-asked policy is offered in good faith. We reserve the right to decline refund requests where the pattern of purchases and refunds suggests the policy is being abused rather than used.

Chargebacks

If you initiate a chargeback through your bank or card issuer instead of requesting a refund from us, your licence will be revoked the same way as for an ordinary refund. Please consider emailing us first — a direct refund is faster for you, less costly for us, and avoids the chargeback dispute process for both sides.

VAT, sales tax, and currency

Paddle returns the full amount you paid in your original payment currency, including any VAT or sales tax that Paddle collected on the original transaction.

Free tier

The Free tier is free. There's nothing to refund.
